In the year 2018, Facebook tested out a new feature called Facebook protect. It was first rolled to the US users in the year 2020 by considering the US elections. After its successful release in the US it began rolling out globally in September 2021.

Facebook protect is a security feature that allows users to protect their Facebook account from hackers. This feature helps those with high followers like Politicians, Celebrities and government officials. These are accounts that are highly targeted by hackers due to their public reach.

In a statement Facebook claims that Facebook allows the high profile users to protect their account with the help of two-factor authentication.

At present the Facebook protect is not mandatory for all the Facebook users but the account holders with more public image are forced to enable this feature to keep their account out of hacking.

How to turn on Facebook protection on Mobile?

1) Go to your Facebook page
2) Click on the three horizontal line (Hamburger icon)
3) Tap Settings & Privacy > Settings
4) Select Password and Security
5) Below Facebook protect you can find a note called “Facebook Protect is Off”. Now just tap on the arrow.

How to turn on Facebook protection on Desktop?

1) Go to your Facebook page
2) Click on the upper right corner arrow.
3) Tap Settings & Privacy > Settings
4) Click security & login
5) Below Facebook protect you can find a note called “Facebook Protect is Off”. Now Tap on Get started.
